DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Unknown armed men shot a member of Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) dead in a town north of Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
A military source of the Asayish in the town of Suwar, north of Deir ez-Zor, said that two armed people riding a motorcycle targeted the 35-year-old Fawaz al-Tarboush, in the village of Ghariba, in Suwar with machineguns.
Al-Tarboush died immediately, while the armed people fled towards the Badia, according to the source.
Recently, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has been witnessing an increase in assassination operations, targeting Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighters, Autonomous Administration employees, clan dignitaries and civilians, as Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for most of them.
On Sunday, a member of the Asayish was wounded by unknown gunmen who targeted a patrol in a town east of Deir ez-Zor.
