Unidentified gunmen target Asayish member in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, a member of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) was wounded by unknown gunmen who targeted a patrol in the town of eastern Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A source from the Asayish in the town of al-Busayrah east of Deir ez-Zor said that unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle targeted a vehicle of one of their patrols near the entrance to al-Busayrah in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor with a machinegun.
The source added that the targeting resulted in the injury of Jassem al-Hanan, 30, he was hospitalized in al-Omar Hospital, now he is in good health, according to a doctor in the hospital.
The countryside of Deir ez-Zor witnesses an increase in cases of assassination, targeting members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribal leaders and civilians despite intensive security operations launched by the SDF.
On April 1st, an SDF member was shot dead by unknown gunmen in the town of Diban in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
