DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – On Sunday, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said that his country will push Iran and Hezbollah out of Syria and will not allow Tehran to threaten Israelis.
Following a visit to the Israeli Defense Forces together with army commanders, Gallant stated that “Israel is under tension in all sectors. We will push them [Iran and Hezbollah] out of Syria to where they should be, and that is in Iran.”
“We will not allow Iranians and Hezbollah to harm us, we didn’t allow it in the past, we don’t allow it now, and we won’t allow it in the future,” he stressed.
“We are under tension in all sectors. The Iranians are sending their arms to the West Bank and Gaza, and are trying to establish themselves in Syria and on the Lebanese border,” he said.
Relations between Israel and Iran remain tense, as both countries accuse each other of being behind attacks on their armed forces and their countries.
Sensitive military and nuclear sites in Iran have been attacked over the past years. Tehran has accused Tel Aviv of being behind them.
Earlier on Sunday, five soldiers of the Syrian government forces were wounded in an alleged Israeli airstrike in Homs, central Syria.
Iranian media outlets announced on Sunday that another military advisor of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) died of his wounds in the alleged Israeli airstrike in Syria on March 31.
