IED blast in Syria’s Homs kills 4 truffle hunters
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, four truffle hunters lost their lives, including three women, and four others were wounded in an IED explosion, east of Homs Governorate, central Syria.
A local source, a relative of one of the victims, told North Press that an IED which is most likely belongs to Islamic State (ISIS) exploded in a car that was carrying truffle hunters from the village of Rod al-Wahesh, on the vicinity of the eastern desert of Homs.
Three women and a man were killed and four others were seriously injured, as they were transferred to a field hospital in the area, according to the source.
Remnants of war pose a great threat on lives of civilians in areas witnessed military conflict, amid absence of awareness campaigns about how to deal with them.
A day before, ten people were killed and 12 others were injured in two separated explosions of IEDs on the outskirt of Salamiyah, in the eastern countryside of Hama, central Syria, while collecting truffles.
