ISIS claims responsibility for 2 attacks against Iraqi army
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Saturday, the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for two separate attacks against the Iraqi army in the west of the al-Anbar Governorate.
The ISIS-run Amaq news agency said in a statement that the group’s militants attacked with light and medium machine guns a 4WD vehicle of the Iraqi army near al-Nukhib-Arar road in western al-Anbar, in western Iraq.
The attack resulted in the injury of several members of the Iraqi army and material damage to their vehicle.
In another statement released on Saturday, the agency reported that ISIS militants attacked with machine guns a military outpost of the Iraqi army near the Arar region in western al-Anbar, leading to material damage.
Recently, ISIS sleeper cells intensified their attacks in Syria and Iraq despite the constant combing operations against them.
On March 23, ISIS claimed responsibility for an attack against an Iraqi army patrol in Kirkuk, in northern Iraq.
