SDF arrests ISIS militants in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced on Wednesday the arrest of an Islamic State (ISIS) “terrorist” two days ago in Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.

The SDF Media Center said that the arrested ISIS militant was responsible for “providing the terrorist cells of ISIS with intelligence for planning terrorist acts” to hit the state of safety and stability the region is maintaining.

After precise monitoring, the SDF, with the support of the US-led Global Coalition, raided the hideout of the ISIS militant and arrested him.

Additionally, the operation resulted in the confiscation of one AK-47, three smartphones, and ammunition, according to the SDF Media Center.

The SDF confirmed they will continue operations, pursuing ISIS militants and the group’s sleeper cells throughout northeast Syria “until achieving the enduring defeat of ISIS cells in the region.”
