DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Monday, the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for two separate attacks against the Iraqi army.
ISIS-run Amaq news agency said, in a statement, that ISIS militants targeted an outpost of the Iraqi army located between the cities of Baiji and Haditha, in the Iraqi Saladin Governorate.
The attack resulted in the killing of a soldier of the Iraqi army and the injury of two others, in addition to destroying one thermal camera.
In another statement, ISIS claimed responsibility for targeting an officer of Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service with a sniper rifle, south of the town of Daquq, in Kirkuk Governorate, Iraq.
Lately, the terrorist group has intensified its operations in Syria and Iraq despite constant security campaigns to pursue ISIS sleeper cells.
On February 26, ISIS claimed responsibility for two separate attacks against the Iraqi army, killing four soldiers and destroying two vehicles.
Two days earlier, the group claimed responsibility for an attack against Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), killing one fighter and injuring another near al-Shuhail town in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside, eastern Syria.
