ISIS claims attack on SDF in eastern Deir ez-Zor

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State (ISIS) claimed on Thursday responsibility for an attack against a checkpoint of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) at a town in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

ISIS-run Amaq news agency published a statement saying that the organization’s militants targeted with machine guns an SDF checkpoint near the entrance of the town of al-Sabha, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor city. 

It added that the attack killed an SDF fighter and injured two others.

On Tuesday, two soldiers of the Syrian government forces were killed in an infiltration operation by ISIS operatives in the town of al-Mayadin in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside.
