ISIS behind two attacks against Iraqi army

DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – ISIS claimed responsibility for two separate attacks against the Iraqi army on Monday.

ISIS-affiliated Amaq News Agency said in a statement that ISIS militants targeted with machine guns a patrol of the Iraqi army attempting to raid ISIS positions near Metibija in Diyala Governorate in Iraq.    

The attack resulted in the injury of two members of the Iraqi army and damage to a Hummer vehicle.

In another statement, the Amaq reported that ISIS militants detonated an IED in a patrol of the Iraqi army while conducting a raid near al-Hadar, which killed an Iraqi soldier and wounded two others.

In the last two days, ISIS has claimed responsibility for six attacks against the Iraqi army and affiliated factions.
