Donors forcibly film quake-affected people in Syria’s Jindires
AFRIN, Syria (North Press) – Volunteer teams force women and old people in the town of Jindires in Afrin countryside, northwestern Syria, to thank them in front of the camera to give them relief parcels in return.
An eyewitness told North Press that teams supported by several Arab or foreign donors film the distressed people affected by the earthquake that hit Syria while receiving relief aid in a humiliating way.
Although the assistance they provide is nominal, they forcibly photograph the beneficiaries while thanking the donors, according to the eyewitness.
At dawn on Feb. 6, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Syria and Turkey, killing 44.000 and injuring much more. The earthquake also caused immense destruction of buildings, trapping thousands under the rubble.
Jindires is the most affected area in Syria by the earthquake, as 513 individuals were killed and 831 others were injured, in addition to the destruction of 200 buildings and the partial damages to over 500 others.
