More than 130 Injuries in Syria by new quake
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – More than 130 people were reported injured in many areas in northwest Syria by the recent earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday evening.
The Syrian opposition’s Civil Defense recorded 130 civilian injuries in the opposition-held northwest Syria in an initial toll.
The earthquake led to “the collapse of a number of cracked walls and buildings in the areas hit by the previous earthquake,” the Civil Defense said in a post on its Facebook account.
As for the Syrian government-held areas, state-run SANA news agency reported that six injuries were admitted to Aleppo hospitals that resulted from falling stones from cracked buildings.
At nearly 8 pm on Monday, two earthquakes hit Turkey’s Hatay Province, measuring 6.4 and 5.8 on Richter scale. The earthquakes, especially the first one, damaged northwest Syria and was felt in all of the country.
