Panic prevails among people in northwest Syria after quake
ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – The quake that hit Syria on Monday evening has caused a state of panic and fear among people in northwest Syria. The quake was measured 6.4 on the Richter scale.
A source told North Press, “People rushed to streets in all northwestern Syrian cities.”
The source added, “Owing to the stampede, a number of civilians were injured slightly due to falling stones from cracked buildings. Many were taken to medical centers falling unconscious.”
The pro-opposition Civil Defence released on its Facebook page that two deserted buildings and the minaret of a mosque collapsed in Jinderis town, north Aleppo.
Prisoners in a jail run by the Syrian opposition’s Military Police in Azaz organized a riot, according to the same source.
