2 anonymous rockets target US forces in Syria

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Saturday that two anonymous rockets targeted their forces at “Green Village” in northeast Syria.

The CENTCOM tweeted that their forces in Syria are investigating the incident.

However, no casualties or material damage were reported.

The CENTCOM is one of the eleven unified combatant commands of the US Department of Defense. It was founded in 1983, taking over the previous responsibilities of the Rapid Deployment Joint Task Force (RDJTF). In northeast Syria, the CENTCOM aims at continuing to develop and enable the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to defeat Islamic State (ISIS) and requesting the nations repatriate their citizens of ISIS families from Hawl and Roj camps.

On Jan. 4, two rockets hit a military base of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
