US-SDF joint raid kills ISIS leader in NE Syria – CENTCOM

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the US-led Global Coalition to defeat Islamic State (ISIS) and Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched a “helicopter raid” in northeast Syria, killing a senior ISIS leader, US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Friday.

CENTCOM said in a press release, in a partnered helicopter raid with the SDF a senior ISIS leader “Hamza al-Homsi” was killed and “an explosion on target resulted in four U.S. servicemembers and one working dog wounded.”

The statement added that the wounded and the working dog were transferred to Iraq to receive treatment.
