41 Aftershocks in 24 Hours – Syria National Earthquake Center
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian National Earthquake Center (NEC) of the Syrian government said on Wednesday that 41 earthquakes had been recorded and analyzed in the last 24 hours.
The center noted that the majority of the earthquakes were of a magnitude between 2 and 3, and only two earthquakes of magnitude 4 and 4.3 were recorded.
The NEC pointed out that all these aftershocks are mild and will have no major effects, and said people should not worry.
The general director of the NEC, Ra’d Ahmad, told a local press website that the aftershocks might persist for a whole year through more than 30.000 very mild tremors.
