AANES to send 100 diesel tankers to earthquake-stricken areas in Aleppo

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) said on Tuesday that it would dispatch 100 diesel tankers to areas in Aleppo that have been affected by the earthquake that had struck Syria and Turkey a day earlier.

Abeer Khalid, senior official at the AANES, told North Press that they decided “to dispatch 100 tankers of diesel to the earthquake-stricken areas in Aleppo.”

She added that the decision came as “initial support for relief efforts in these areas.”

On Monday, the AANES announced in a statement its complete readiness to provide support for the earthquake-affected areas.

Co-chair of the AANES Executive Council, Berivan Khalid, said in a tweet, “The areas held by the Autonomous Administration can be adopted as a bridge for humanitarian aid delivery,” adding they are ready to provide what it takes to achieve that.
