Syria’s earthquake kills 1.515 people, injures 3.605 ones
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Victims toll of the earthquake that hit Syria has reached 1.515 deaths and more than 3.605 injury cases across the country by Tuesday morning.
Syrian Ministry of Health announced that it has recorded 769 deaths and 1.448 injury cases in the Syrian governorates of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama and Tartus, as well as Idlib countryside.
At 4:17 on Monday, a disastrous 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit a number of areas in Syria claiming hundreds of lives and damaging and destroying houses and buildings in different areas.
Rescue teams continue to look for families still stuck under rubble.
In turn, Civil Defense Team, affiliated with the Syrian opposition, in Idlib, northwestern Syria, announced on Tuesday that the number of the earthquake victims in northwest Syria has exceeded 740 deaths and 2.100 injury cases.
The number is most likely to dramatically rise, as there are thousands of families still stuck under rubble, according to the Civil Defense Teams.
In addition, Health Board of Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) said that eight people died in the earthquake and 55 others were injured in its-held areas.
