Landmine Kills Two, Injures Eight in Syria’s Homs
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – Two people were killed and eight others were wounded on Sunday by remnants of war most likely left over by Islamic State (ISIS) near Palmyra in eastern Homs, central Syria.
A local source told North Press that a landmine exploded next to a truck carrying two families headed to harvest Terfeziaceae in the al-Mazraq Desert near Palmyra.
The source added, citing a doctor at the Palmyra Hospital, that the wounded sustained various injuries.
Since early 2023, North Press has recorded more than 18 deaths, mostly children, resulting from explosive remnants of Syria’s war.
