Two Syrian Soldiers Killed in Daraa

DARAA, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, two soldiers of Syrian government forces were killed by unidentified gunmen in the northern countryside of Daraa, southern Syria.

Local sources told North Press that “Ossama Saleh al-Atma and Abdurrahman Marwan al-Halabi were killed on Friday evening after being shot by unidentified gunmen in the city of al-Sanamayn in the northern countryside of Daraa.”

“The two soldiers were taken to the military hospital in al-Sanamayn and died of the critical injuries sustained during the attack,” the source added.

“Al-Atma was from al-Sanamayn in Daraa, and al-Halabi hailed from Aleppo; both resided in al-Sanamayn.”

The two soldiers were members of ‘Shadi al-Rifa’I’ group, affiliated with the Military Security branch of the government forces in Daraa, according to the same sources.

On Monday, fifteen government soldiers were injured, and one later died when a bus carrying them was targeted with an IED near Khirbat Ghazaleh in the eastern countryside of Daraa.
