9.277 Syrian refugees leave Jordan in 2022

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Jordan announced on Sunday that 9.277 Syrian refugees left its territory during 2022 and more than half of them were resettled in a third country.  

The state-run al-Mamlaka TV channel said, citing United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), 4.013 Syrian refugees were deported from Jordan to Syrian in 2022. In addition, 5.264 others were resettled in a third country.

The number of Syrian refugees returned to Syria from different countries in 2022 reached 50.966. In 2021, 35.624 refugees returned. In 2020, 38.235, and in 2019, 94.971 ones.

The number of the Syrian refugees returned to Syria since 2016 has reached 354.055, 64.934 of them from Jordan, according to the UNHCR.

Jordan said that it has hosted more than 1.3 million Syrians since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in 2021, 660.892 of them are registered in the UNHCR.
