SDF, Coalition reinforcing positions in NE Syria

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said on Monday that they and the US-led Global Coalition are reinforcing their bases across northeastern Syria after reports on potential increasing threats against the region in the coming period.

Farhad Shami, Director of the SDF Media Center, tweeted about the reports, saying, “Threats against the region will increase in the coming weeks.”

Shami did not mention the source of those threats, however, he stressed that the SDF and the Global Coalition are “ready to confront these new threats and do what is necessary.”

Yesterday, the Global Coalition sent military reinforcements, including 50 truckloads of military vehicles and fuel tankers, to its bases outside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.

In December 2022, the SDF announced ‘Operation Al-Jazeera Thunderbolt’ in the regions of Hasakah and Qamishli in order to drive out Islamic State (ISIS) sleeper cells.
