Rockets hit US Coalition base in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, two rockets hit a military base of the US-led Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.
The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a news release two rockets targeted the Coalition forces at Conoco Gas Field, north of Deir ez-Zor.
The attack resulted in no injuries or damage to the base or Coalition property, the CENTCOM added.
The CENTCOM, founded in 1983, aims at continuing to develop and enable the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) to defeat ISIS and requesting the nations repatriate their citizens of ISIS families from Hawl and Roj camps in NE Syria.
It pointed out that the SDF visited the rocket origin site and found “a third unfired rocket”.
“Attacks of this kind place coalition forces and the civilian populace at risk and undermine the hard-earned stability and security of Syria and the region,” said Col. Joe Buccino, CENTCOM spokesman.
