Israeli Airstrikes on Damascus airport kill 2 soldiers, wounded 2 others

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Two soldiers of the Syrian government forces were killed and two others were wounded on Monday at dawn in Israeli airstrikes, targeting Damascus International Airport.

“The Israeli enemy carried out at 2 a.m. an aggression from the direction of Lake Tiberias targeting Damascus Int’l Airport and its vicinity,” state-run SANA News Agency reported.

SANA cited a military source as saying, “The aggression left two military personnel martyred and two others wounded.”

The source added that the attack caused material damages to the airport and put it “out of service.”

Hours later, the Syrian Ministry of Transport announced the return of the airport into service.

On June 10, 2022 Israeli heavily targeted the airport and put it out of service for two weeks.
