HTS Arrests protestors against Syria-Turkey Rapprochement
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – On Friday, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra front) arrested five individuals participated in demonstrations in Idlib, northwest Syria, on the back of Syrian-Turkish rapprochement.
An exclusive source told North Press that patrols of General Security affiliated with HTS raided several houses in Wadi al-Nasim neighborhood and al-Sheikh Theleth in Idlib and arrested five individuals over their participation in the demonstrations and for chanting slogans, accusing HTS leaders of espionage for Turkey.
The source added that the HTS threatened and forbade all its militants from taking part in the demonstrations under penalty.
Meanwhile, families of detainees demanded fate and charges against their sons are revealed, but they have not received any reply by authorities, the source noted.
