SDF-Coalition patrol visits ISIS’ minors center in Syria’s Qamishli

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – On Thursday, the US-led Global Coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) conducted a joint patrol in the eastern countryside of Qamishli city, northeast Syria, passing through a number of villages and paid a visit to the Huri Rehabilitation Center, home to minors of families of the Islamic States (ISIS).

On December 10, the US Department of Defense announced it resuming joint patrols with the SDF after being suspended on the background of the recent Turkish escalation against northeast Syria.

The patrol, which was composed of four Bradleys and a Hummer, set off from the city of Rmelan accompanied by SDF fighters.

The patrol passed through a number of villages located between Rmelan and the village of Tel Maarouf. Staff of the patrol dismounted in three villages, chatted with villagers and paid a visit to the Huri Rehabilitation Center, home to a number of minors of ISIS families.

This is the first joint patrol to be mounted since November 23, the day on which the SDF suspended anti-ISIS operations with the US-led Global Coalition, citing preoccupation with recent Turkish escalation against the region.
