US air raid kills two ISIS officials in eastern Syria – CENTCOM

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – The US Central Command announced on Sunday killing two ISIS officials in a helicopter raid in eastern Syria.

“US Central Command forces conducted a successful helicopter raid in eastern Syria at 2:57 a.m. local time on December 11, killing two ISIS officials,” CENTCOM said in a press release.

One of the officials, the Central Command said, was called Anas, “an ISIS Syria Province Official who was involved in the group’s deadly plotting and facilitation operations in eastern Syria.”

CENTCOM’s statement said that “extensive planning went into this unilateral operation,” adding that preliminary assessment indicates no civilian losses or injuries.

The US Central Command renewed its commitment to continue its anti-ISIS mission in coordination with local partners until the lasting defeat of the terrorist organization.

On November 30, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the death of the ISIS leader, Abu al-Hassan al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi, by the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in Daraa Governorate, southwest Syria.

Earlier on the same day, the terrorist organization’s media affiliate al-Furqan published an audio by the group’s spokesman Abu Omar al-Muhajer, announcing the death of Abu al-Hassan al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi and naming Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurayshi as ISIS new leader.
