Two rockets target coalition forces in Syria – CENTCOM

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Friday two rockets hit its base in the town of Shaddadi in the southern countryside of Hasakah Governorate, northeast Syria.

“Two rockets targeted coalition forces at the US patrol base in al-Shaddadi,” the CENTCOM announced.

“The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) visited the rocket origin site and found a third unfired rocket,” the CENTCOM said in a statement.

Earlier on Friday, a military source told North Press that four missiles were exploded close to the US base and the building of al-Jebesah oil fields at the outskirts of Shaddadi.

The CENTCOM added that “the attack resulted in no injuries or damage to the base or coalition property.”

Following the attacks, members of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) deployed in the region amid intense flight of helicopters and warplanes.

“Attacks of this kind place coalition forces and the civilian populace at risk and undermine the hard-earned stability and security of Syria and the region,” said Col. Joe Buccino, CENTCOM spokesman.
