Civilians injured in Turkish shelling of Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, two civilians were injured as a result of Turkish shelling of a town in the north of Hasakah, northeast Syria.

The Turkish forces fired artillery shells at the village of Zaydiyah close to the town of Zirgan (Abu Rasin), north of Hasakah, a military source said.

The shelling resulted in the injury of two civilians who were hospitalized in the city of Hasakah, the source added. 

In the afternoon, a Turkish drone attacked an oil field in the village of Gire Pire in the town of Terbe Spi (al-Qahtaniyah), east of Qamishli, a local source said.

The source added that no casualties were reported.

The area witnesses sporadic shelling every now and then amid intense flight of Turkish drones.
