Turkish, Russian forces cancel conducting joint patrol in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – Russian Military Police (MP) cancelled on Monday a joint patrol with Turkish forces, as the patrol was scheduled to be conducted in the western countryside of Kobani, northern Syria, on the border with Turkey.
The commander of the patrol did not reveal the reason behind the cancelation. However, it is more likely to be due to Turkish escalation on the area.
Kobani was subjected on early Sunday to bombing by Turkish warplanes. The bombardment also covered vast swaths of lands in northern Syria.
Sources told North Press that Turkish warplanes targeted with three airstrikes the Meshtanour hill, southeast of the city, a position near the broadcasting service, west of Kobani, and Kobani forest.
A source of Health Board said that Hospital of Children in Meshtanour Hill was completely destroyed.
A medical source from Kobani said that a soldier of Syrian government forces was severely injured due to the Turkish airstrikes on the village of Qazali in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
On November 14, the Russian MP and the Turkish forces conducted the 119th patrol in the eastern countryside of Kobani.
