HTS amends decision on Syrian government university graduates
IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Late on Monday, Syrian Salvation Government, a civil representation of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS- formerly al-Nusra Front), said it abolished all measures related to graduates from Syrian government universities in areas it control.
Days ago, students in Idlib University went on strike protesting admission of graduates of Syrian government into operating associations in Idlib.
The Salvation Government said in a statement that all measures relevant to graduates of “Regime universities” of equivalence and profession licenses issued after December 12, 2016, are no longer effective.
The statement noted all issued decisions will be reconsidered. The decision came in the aftermath of a meeting held between Salvation presidency with Idlib Students Union.
Today morning, students protested in front of the Presidency Office of the Idlib University against allowing a batch of graduates of Syrian universities into Idlib University and associations of the Salvation Government.
