Syrian government areas record 1.351 cholera cases
DAMASCUS, Syria (North Press) – Media office of the Ministry of Health of the Syrian government said on Saturday that cholera cases have mounted to 1.351, most of them are in Aleppo.
The infections are recorded as follows: 811 in Aleppo, 217 in Deir ez-Zor, 84 in Hasakah, 70 in Latakia, 52 in Raqqa, 26 in Suwayda, 26 in Hama, 24 in Homs, 17 in Damascus, eight in Tartus, eight in Rif Dimashq, five in Daraa, and three in Qunaitra.
The total toll of deaths, according to the ministry, reached 49 cases, distributed as follows: 40 in Aleppo, four in Hasakah, two in Deir ez-Zor, and three in each of Damascus, Homs and Hama.
On September 10, Ministry of Health announced – for the first time – the recording of 15 cholera infections in Aleppo Governorate.
