Asayish arrest drug dealers in Syria’s Qamishli

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) announced on Sunday the arrest of two individuals while selling narcotic substances in the city of Qamishli, northeastern Syria.

In a statement on their official account, the Asayish said Anti-drugs units monitored and tracked the two men to the moment they were caught in the act in the western neighborhood of the city. 

On arrest, they possessed a kilo and a half of crystal meth, according to the Asayish.

The two men, during investigations, confessed their involvement in drug promotion thus they were referred to public prosecution to complete the legal procedures, the statement read.

The crystal meth carries a high risk for physical dependence that gravely affects individuals’ lives in a short time, according to medical sources.

In June, Asayish announced the arrest of four drug’s abusers and dealers in the city of Hasakah, northeast Syria.
