Turkish forces shell villages in Syria’s Hasakah For 3rd day in row
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and their affiliated armed Syrian opposition factions, also known as Syrian National Army (SNA), resumed on Thursday evening their shelling of villages in the northern countryside of Hasakah, northeastern Syria.
A military source told North Press, “The Turkish forces shelled with dozens of artillery shells the villages of Tel al-Ward, al-Rabi’at, Khirbet al-Shaer, and al-Aboush in the countryside of the town of Tel Tamr.”
The bombardment caused material damage to the residents’ properties, the source said.
The shelling came hours after targeting the villages of Tel al-Ward, and Khirbet al-Shaer today morning.
The towns of Tel Tamr and Zirgan (Abu Rasin) are subjected to intense Turkish bombardment for the third day in a row.
On Monday, a Turkish drone struck a construction facility in Qamishli city, which resulted in the killing of two people.
Tel Tamr, which has a population of about 25,000 and is 30 km away from the Syrian-Turkish border, is of strategic importance as it is a junction on the M4 Highway linking the Jazira region in northeast Syria to Aleppo governorate in northwest.
