ISIS claims two attacks against SDF in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Wednesday, the Islamic State Organization (ISIS), through close outlets, claimed responsibility for carrying two attacks against the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in both eastern and western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
ISIS-run Amaq news agency said, in a statement, militants of the organization targeted an SDF headquarters in the town of al- Busayrah, 35 kilometers east of Deir ez-Zor, with machineguns.
The attack claimed the life of an SDF fighter in addition to damages left in the headquarters, according to Amaq.
On October 25, unidentified attackers clashed with SDF fighters in al-Busayrah.
In another statement, Amaq said that the ISIS militants managed to take an SDF fighter as captive near the town of al-Kasrah in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor.
The SDF captive was beheaded by the attackers, following investigation, according to Amaq.
On Wednesday, residents of the town of Jazra Albuhamid in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor governorate found a decapitated head hanging from an unfinished building.
The total toll of attacks claimed by ISIS in the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) since early this year has mounted to 155, targeting civilians, military personnel and SDF military vehicles and headquarters.
Although the SDF launches intensive security operations in the countryside of Deir ez-Zor, the region has recently witnessed an increase in killing incidents carried out against Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) members, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribal figures and civilians.
