Russian Reconciliation reveals damages of Israeli airstrike on Syria
DAMASCUSE, Syria (North Press) – Due to anIsraeli airstrike on the vicinity of the Syrian capital Damascus on Oct0 21, a YLC-6M radar of Air Defense and the runway of al-Dimas airport were destroyed, Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria announced on Saturday night.
“Nearly at 23.03 Friday, October 21st, 2022, the Israeli enemy carried out a missile aggression from the north-eastern direction of Tiberias, targeting some posts in the vicinity of Damascus,” a military source told State-run SANA News Agency.
Deputy Head of the Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria, Oleg Egorov, said Israel airstrike destroyed YLC-6M radar of Syrian Air Defense and al-Dimas airport’s runway.
The airstrike resulted in “material damages only,” Oleg Egorov added.
Egorov noted, “Syria’s air defense systems destroyed two cruise missiles and four guided bombs over the course of an air defense battle,” fired by four Israeli F-16 jets.
The Chinese-made YLC-6M radar is used by several countries, including Iran and Syria, as part of their Air Defenses.
On September 16, five soldiers of the Syrian government forces were killed in an Israeli airstrike, targeting Damascus International Airport and other areas near the capital.
The aggression caused material losses.
