Syrian government areas record new COVID-19 case

DAMASCUS, Syria (North Syria) – Media office of the Ministry of Health of the Syrian government announced on Saturday the recording of one new coronavirus infection and two recoveries in its areas. No deaths have been recorded.

The official Facebook account of the ministry reported only one case in Latakia Governorate and two recoveries in Damascus.

The total number of coronavirus infections in the Syrian government-held areas has reached 57.347 confirmed cases, including 3.163 deaths and 54.170 recoveries.

But the main threat in the country now comes from another infectious disease which is cholera, with 825 confirmed cases and 43 deaths, according to the Syrian Ministry of Health.
