Child killed by Turkish-backed faction in Syria’s Aleppo

ALEPPO, Syria (North Press) – A child was killed on Saturday evening after being seriously injured in an indiscriminate shooting by members of Hamza Division, a faction of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA), towards the city of al-Bab, east of Aleppo in northern Syria.

A military source in the SNA’s Hayat Thaeroon for Liberation told North Press, “The child, Muhammad Khazma, was killed after succumbing to his wounds which he sustained due to an indiscriminate machine-gun shooting by members of the Hamza Division stationed in the Bza’a town, 3km east of al-Bab city.”

The source added that militants targeted neighborhoods in the city, with the aim of intimidating the residents.

This comes after the faction was expelled from its military posts in the city about two weeks ago, against the background of the killing of a media activist and his pregnant wife in the city of al-Bab on October 7.

The source noted that the child’s relatives and armed men blocked the road connecting al-Bab and Bza’a with burning tires, amid alert by the Military Police in the city.

The city of al-Bab has been under the control of the SNA factions since 2017.
