ISIS claims responsibility for killing SDF fighter in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – The Islamic State Organization (ISIS) claimed on Monday responsibility for arresting and then killing a fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, east Syria.
ISIS-run Amaq News Agency said its militants managed to arrest and kill an SDF fighter in the village of al-Kassar in the town of al-Busayrah, 35 km east of Deir ez-Zor.
Although the SDF launches intensive security operations, the countryside of Deir ez-Zor has recently witnessed an increase in killing incidents carried out against SDF members, employees of the Autonomous Administration, tribal figures and civil residents.
The SDF keeps pursuing ISIS sleeper cells in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside with the aim to maintain security and stability of the region.
On October 6, ISIS claimed responsibility for targeting two individuals, claiming they dealt with the SDF in al-Busayrah town.
