Turkish forces target town north of Syria’s Hasakah

HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and their affiliated opposition factions, also known as the Syrian National Army (SNA), shelled on Wednesday the town of Zirgan (Abu Rasin) in Hasakah northern countryside, northeast Syria.

A military source told North Press, “Turkish forces shelled with artillery the center of Zirgan, and one of the shells landed on the municipality building, causing material damage.”

The source stated, “Turkish forces then struck several villages in the town’s countryside, which are al-Asadiya, al-Bobi, Umm Harmala, al-Nuwaihat, Khirbet al-Shaer, Tel al-Ward and Dada Abdal.”

The shelling resulted in material damage to the residents’ properties, according to the same source.

On Tuesday, the Turkish shelling of the town injured a woman, while a number of homes were destroyed in the center of the town.

The area of Zirgan is being bombarded with heavy artillery and mortars by the Turkish forces for the third day in a row.
