Turkish forces shell several villages in Syria’s Kobani

KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – Turkish forces and their affiliated armed opposition factions, known as the Syrian national Army (SNA), shelled on Monday evening several villages in the eastern and western countryside of Kobani, northern Syria.

Kaniwar Muhammad, a resident of the village of Qaramogh, told North Press that more than 10 shells fell on the village: three of them in front of his home, and two near an outpost of the Syrian government forces.

He added that the intense shelling displaced a number of the village’s residents, who live near the border, towards the southwestern villages of Holaqiya and Ain al-Bat.

An eyewitness from the village of Mazraat Abrosh, west of Kobani, said that around six shells fell on the village’s farmland and near the village of Tel Shaer, where an outpost of the Syrian government forces is located.

He added, “One of the shells fell into a poultry farm west of Tel Shaer and caused material damage to it.”
