IED blast wounds SDF fighter in Deir ez-Zor
DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – A fighter of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was wounded on Sunday by IED explosion in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, eastern Syria.
A military source of the SDF in the town of Akidat, some 20 km east of Deir ez-Zor said that an IED, which was planted on the right side of the main road at the entrance of the town, exploded in a military vehicle of the SDF.
The explosion caused serious injury to the fighter who was hospitalized to Hasakah city, the source added.
The countryside of Deir ez-Zor witnesses an increase in cases of assassination, targeting members of the SDF, employees of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES), tribal leaders and civilians, despite the intensive security operations launched by the SDF.
On Sunday, an IED exploded in the middle of the vegetable market in the town of Milaj, west of Deir ez-Zor, causing material damages.
