HTS launches 4 attacks in Syria’s Idlib – Khmiemim

IDLIB, Syria (North Press) – Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria in Khmeimim Air Base on Syria’s coast announced on Tuesday that Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS, formerly al-Nusra Front) militants launched four attacks from de-escalation zone in Idlib.

Oleg Yegorov, Deputy Chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation in Syria added that the attacks resulted in two rocket hits in Aleppo and three in Latakia.

A Syrian soldier was injured “by terrorists”, he said.

On September 19, the Center announced that HTS militants launched five attacks from de-escalation zone in Idlib during one day.

Russian forces targeted a stronghold of HTS, in Idlib, killing 45 militants including field leaders.

De-escalation zone in northwestern Syria continues to witness daily exchange of bombardment between Syrian government forces and opposition factions despite being part of the ceasefire agreement signed between Russia and Turkey in March 2020, which stipulates a halt of military action in Idlib.
