Turkish shelling deprives 2 towns in northern Hasakah of power
HASAKAH, Syria (North Press) – Power was cut down from two towns in northern countryside of Hasakah, northeast Syria due to continued Turkish shelling of northeast Syria.
The Turkish shelling caused power cut-off from the two towns of Amuda and Derbasiyah, north of Hasakah.
Sa’oud Ali, co-chair of Amuda Electricity Center told North Press that the shelling downed a cable close to the village of Tel Sha’ier on the road between Amuda and Qamishli cutting high frequency 66 KVA line.
That led to power cuts from Amuda and Derbasiyah and their countryside, according to Sa’oud.
“Maintenance teams of ‘Transmission and Distribution’ began its work to repair the damages caused,” noting that the current will return to both towns in the coming hours.
In the early hours of the day, the Turkish forces heavily shelled several villages and towns on the border in north and northeast Syria.
