Asayish arrest ISIS escapee in Syria’s Manbij

MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) arrested on Wednesday the member of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) who had escaped from a hospital in Manbij city, northern Syria.

On Tuesday, the ISIS member managed to shot dead two Asayish members and escape while he was taken to the hospital in Manbij.

Manbij Military Council, affiliated with Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said that Asayish arrested the escapee who killed two Asayish members.

After the pursuit , the fugitive was shot and surrendered, the Council added through a statement on its page Facebook.

On Tuesday, the Asayish Media Center said that an ISIS member managed to escape while he was taken to a hospital in the city of Manbij.

He was able to surprise the members of the protection, seize one of their weapons and shoot them, before fleeing.

The city of Manbij, east of Aleppo, is one of the most important industrial centers in northern Syria, as it is a transportation hub and sits on a commercial road linking the Autonomous Administration held areas with those of the Syrian government, in addition to opposition-held areas in northern Syria.

Following its liberation from ISIS, the Arabs, Kurds, Circassians and Turkmen, who constitute the fabric of Manbij, established their own administration under the name of Democratic Civil Administration of Manbij and its Countryside to run the affairs of their region. Then, this administration joined the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES).
