DEIR EZ-ZOR, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, Health Committee in the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) recorded 184 infections and three deaths of cholera.

Maryam al-Awad, co-chair of the Health Committee in the Deir ez-Zor Civil Council told North Press, “Cholera has immensely spread in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor as a result of water contamination.”

The Euphrates River has become spots of quagmires which led to water contamination after water levels reached unprecedented recession, dubbed by locals, as “catastrophic,” due to reduction of water by Turkey, according to reports.
