Russia conducts one-sided patrol in Syria’s Kobani
KOBANI, Syria (North Press) – Russian Military Police (MP) conducted on Monday a one-sided patrol without the participation of Turkish vehicles in the eastern countryside of Kobani, north Syria.
The Russian military vehicles waited for the Turkish vehicles to join them until 09:00 am at the gate near the village of Gharib, 15 km east of Kobani.
However, the Turkish vehicles did not turn up at the patrol’s start date.
The Russian officers responsible for conducting the patrol didn’t comment on Turkish vehicles’ absence.
Three Russian vehicles with two Russian helicopters travelled along the planned patrol line alone.
The patrol sat off from Gharib and passed by the villages of Karbanaf, Kosk, Alishar, Jom Ali, Kortek, Kobek, Satan, Tiri, Tel Hajib, Qabajeq Saghir, Telk and Boztibah.
After the patrol ended, the Russian military vehicles returned to their center near the town of Sirrin south of Kobani.
On September 5, Russian MP conducted the 111th joint patrol with Turkish forces in the eastern countryside of Kobani, north Syria.
Following the Turkish incursion in October 2019, Turkey signed two ceasefire agreements, one with Russia and the other with the US stipulating ceasing all hostilities, launching joint patrols, and the withdrawal of the SDF 32 km away from the Turkish border.
