QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press)Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) found on Sunday a body of an Iraqi refugee in Hawl Camp, east of Hasakah in northeast Syria.

The Asayish Media Center, in a post published on its Facebook page, said, “During the combing operations in the fourth sector in Hawl Camp, our forces found the body of a 45-year-old man named Karim Hussein Ali.”

The man held the Iraqi citizenship, the post said.

This comes as the Asayish continue its anti-ISIS security campaign in Hawl Camp with support of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the US-led Coalition.

On August 25, the Asayish announced launching the second phase of Operation “Humanity and Security” to pursue ISIS sleeper cells in the camp. The first phase started in March 2021.
