13 ISIS members killed in three Iraqi governorates

ERBIL, KRI, Iraq (North Press) – 13 members of the Islamic State Organization (ISIS) was killed on Saturday evening in several Iraqi areas in less than 24 hours, Iraqi Security Media Cell (SMC) said.  

The SMC announced that seven members, including the leader Hammoud Hamada Ali Huwaish, known as Abu Nihad, were killed in an airstrike in the al-Jalayat area in al-Anbar Governorate.

In another statement, the SMC said that Iraqi Air Force carried out two airstrikes by F-16 aircrafts, targeting the banks of Lake Hamrin in Diyala Governorate, resulting in the killing of three members.

While the security forces began searching the targeted place, they were able to kill a fourth member after clashing with him.

The forces also destroyed three motorcycles, a number of IEDs, and barrels containing explosive materials.

Iraqi aircraft carried out airstrikes, targeting an ISIS site in Hamrin Mountains and Saladin Governorate, according to the SMC statement which confirmed the killing of the two prominent figures of ISIS, Muhammad Rashid Jassem, known as Abu Hudhayfah, and Abu Fatima.
