Secretary of Baath Party killed east of Syria’s Daraa
DARAA, Syria (North Press) – A Secretary of the Baath Party was killed on Thursday after being targeted by unidentified gunmen, in the eastern countryside of Daraa, south Syria.
A local source told North Press that “Youssef Odah al-Zoubi, Secretary of the Baath Party Branch of the town of al-Musayfrah, was killed after being targeted by unknown attackers riding a motorcycle in the town.”
He added, “Al-Zoubi was transferred to the National Hospital of the town of Busra in the eastern countryside of Daraa, and he passed away there.”
Before assuming his position as the Secretary of the Baath Party Branch of al-Musayfrah, al-Zoubi worked as a director of one of the town’s schools, the source said.
Since the government forces re-captured Daraa in 2018, the governorate has been living in a state of insecurity, with one or two daily assassinations targeting soldiers, officials and officers of the government forces, not to mention the spread of thefts.
