Turkey shells villages in Syria’s Manbij
MANBIJ, Syria (North Press) – On Tuesday, Turkish forces stationed in the village of al-Tokhar bombed villages north of the city of Manbij, northern Syria with mortar shells.
The Turkish forces stationed in the village of al-Tokhar targeted the villages of al-Jat and al-Masi north of Manbij with mortar shells, said the Media Center of Manbij Military council, a military formation affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The council added that the populated villages are still witnessing continuous bombardment until the moment of preparing this news.
No information about human and material losses were mentioned by the military council.
Since early morning hours, Kobani and its countryside, along with villages in north of Hasakah have been under heavy shelling launched by Turkish forces, which resulted in the loss of a child’s life and the injury of eight other civilians.
The villages located on the seam border between the Manbij Military Council forces and the Turkish forces and the Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, were targeted by about 81 mortar shells during the first week of this month, according to the Manbij Military Council’s statistics.
